We have started our new topic ‘Nocturnal Animals’.

Children have a new Home Learning Adventure Book with the Pyramid of activities for the topic.

Please spend some time looking through the pyramid and thinking about what you are going to have a go at this coming term.

Miss Smillie’s Phonics Group – We have been learning about using mnemonics to help remember a spelling e.g. BECAUSE – Big Elephants Can Always Understand Small Elephants.

Can you make your own mnemonic to remember a spelling you find tricky?

Miss Hele’s/ Mrs Wickes’ Phonics Group– Find words with the /ow/ sound spelt ‘ou’, ‘ow’ and ‘ough’.

Practice spelling the words ‘some’, ‘come’, ‘where’ and ‘who’.

Miss Stinton’s Phonics Group– Find words with different spellings of the /ai/ sound – ‘a_e’, ‘ai’, ‘ay’, ‘a’, ‘eigh’, ‘ey’, ‘ei’, ‘aigh’ and ‘ea’.
