Year 2 Litter Survey

Year 2 really enjoyed their local visit and litter survey on Friday.

They were really shocked at the amount of rubbish, including sweet wrappers, bottles, crisp packets and cans.

They were so enthusiastic about looking after our world that that they spent the rest of the day writing letters to our neighbouring schools and making posters reminding people to use the bin!

Times table fun

This week the children have begun learning their number facts for the 2 times table. They loved making their own flash cards and playing games with their friends to remember the times table facts. Keep practising these!

In science we have been exploring different habitats including woodland and coastal habitats. When you are out and about, have a look at the habitats around you. What animals and plants live there? What food sources are available?

We are really looking forward to our walk on Friday – please do remember to bring in wellies in case the weather is less favourable.

Autumn 2 Maths Home learning

Welcome back!

As we start our second half term, we have begun our longitudinal study in science. We will be looking at how seeds and bulbs grow, observing them to see whether or not they grow better inside or outside. We will be planting bulbs and watching them across the year. We look forward to sharing our observations with you.
Why don’t you spend some time looking at the plants growing in your local environment! What can the children see? How are they changing as winter approaches?
We have also started out new topic: Living Together. Ask your children about what they have explored so far!
