Please carry on learning about nocturnal animals. Can you look for different animals around your house and neighbourhood this weekend? Can you look in the garden at night time and see if you can spot any hedgehogs, foxes, owls or other nocturnal animals?

Miss Smillie’s Phonics Group – Use the ‘ful’ suffix to change base nouns like ‘care’, ‘play’, ‘rest’, ‘mouth’ into words like ‘playful’, ‘painful’.
How does it change the meaning of the word? Look at words with the ‘ly’ suffix. Can you sort them by how the base word has been changed?
Miss Hele’s/ Mrs Wickes’ Phonics Group– Practice writing sentences using the ‘n’/’ng’ sound e.g. ‘sing’, ‘thing’, ‘thin’, shin’. Practice spelling tricky words from my home learning diary.
Miss Stinton’s Phonics Group– Find words with different spellings of the /ee/ sound – ‘e_e, ‘ey’, ‘y’, ‘ea’, ‘ei’, ‘e’, ‘eo’, and ‘ie’.Which is the most common? Can you find which spelling is usually found in the middle or at the end of words?
