Practice spelling the next 100 high frequency words that you have been given in class this week.
Miss Stinton:
Write sentences using the tricky words – looked, called and asked.
Mrs Wickes and Miss Hele:
Write sentences using the tricky words- little, one, do, what, when, out
Next week we will be learning about:
In numeracy we will be learning how to tell the time.
You can prepare for this be practising counting in 5s around an analogue clock and start to look at O’clock and half past times.
In literacy we will be starting our diary writing unit. We plan to keep diaries of our daily routines, thoughts and feelings. Perhaps you could keep a diary over the half term?!
In RE will be learning about St. Martin. You could research his life and find out why he became a Saint.

Miss Stinton:
Write words that use the /oy/ sound e.g. coin, boy
Mrs Wickes and Miss Hele:
Write words that use the /ee/ sound e.g. week, bead, scene

Next week we will be learning about:
In numeracy we will be adding and subtracting 10 to any number.
You can prepare for this be practising counting in 10s starting from random numbers e.g. 2, 12, 22, 32, 42 (look at the pattern).
We will also be learning about the mid-point number e.g. half way between 10 and 20 is 15.
In literacy we will be finishing off our letter writing unit. We plan to write a letter to the Queen, writing formally. If you would like to find out information about the Queen, you will be able to help teach the class next week.
In RE will be focusing on the Rosary. Watching mummy and daddy praying the Rosary will help children to understand how to use it. Talking through prayer like the Hail Mary and the Apostles Creed will also support their learning.
We are also learning about the festival of Diwali.

Next week we will be looking at even and odd numbers in maths and the patterns we can see with number.
Literacy will be looking at letter writing.
RE will be focusing on ‘Prayer, Saints and Feasts’ which you can find in your home learning book. As I am sure you all know, it is the month of October which focuses on Mary and we have also been looking at how she is special to us and God.

WEEK BEGINNING 6/10/14
MATHS
In numeracy we will be looking at how to add and subtract accurately using a bead string and numberline.
LITERACY
In literacy we will be writing facts about the Titanic and putting them into catergories.
RE
We will be starting Prayers, Saints and Feasts. You will see in your yellow home learning diaries that there is a page with vocabulary and learning for this topic.
