Superheroes and Super… vegetables?

Hi all,

I am hoping that your child has come home very excited, telling you all about their amazing learning this half term. We have found that the children are really enjoying the recent ‘superheroes’ topic and that their learning is spilling over to their time at home too! If not, have a look at the home learning pyramid from a few blog posts ago for some inspiration!

The children have been very interested in what heroes can eat in order to make them strong and have been counting with foods, writing about them and now even growing them! We have been planting tomatoes, peppers, parsnip and leeks- but to name a few-and hopefully will enjoy the fruits (well, vegetables) of our efforts very soon!

Please don’t forget that Starfish Class will be visiting Pizza Express on Wednesday, so will not need packed lunches. Seahorse Class will be making ‘english muffin pizzas’ in their absence and will be hosting a healthy pizza party with their friends!

Have a lovely week!

We loved eating our Christmas dinner today with the Year 6 children.

Thank you to all of the helpers who came in to serve our food and help us to use our knives and forks.

Our Visit to Waterlooville Library

Year R were very excited to walk to the library this morning!

It was a very long walk but we made good time and arrived by 10.00am.

At the library, the lovely Waterlooville librarians read us some stories and taught us about what you can borrow from the library.

We went on a scavenger hunt around the library. We found picture books, information books, DVDs, audio books and board books for babies.

We all borrowed a book from Waterlooville library.

Then we walked all the way back to school, just in time for lunch.

We were very well behaved and sensible along the busy roads.

Have a lovely weekend.

Please remember to return your book to Waterlooville library when you have finished enjoying it.

Perhaps you could borrow another one…

You know you want to listen to more…
