Pumpkins Four Ways – Year 2’s Autumn Artwork! 🍂🎨
Our creative Year 2 artists have been exploring pumpkins in four different ways, developing their drawing skills and experimenting with oil pastels and chalk pastels!
The children began by looking carefully at real pumpkins, studying their shapes, colours and textures. They then challenged themselves to create four different drawings: a continuous line drawing, an observational drawing, a bird’s-eye view looking down onto a pumpkin, and a slice of pumpkin showing the fascinating shapes and details inside.
Using oil pastels and chalk pastels, the children explored blending, layering and adding colour to bring their pumpkin drawings to life.
This activity encouraged the children to look closely, draw from different perspectives and develop confidence in using different artistic techniques.
We are so proud of their fabulous pumpkin creations and the wonderful variety of artwork they produced!
Take a look at a selection of their fantastic artwork below!
