Year Three

Moving Stick People – Year 3’s Musical Drawing Challenge!

Our enthusiastic Year 3 artists had great fun exploring movement in art as part of their learning about prehistoric cave paintings!

Inspired by the simple human figures found in ancient cave art, the children took part in an exciting game of Musical Drawing! Stick people appeared on the board in different dancing poses while the music played. When the music stopped, the children had to quickly draw the stick person they could see, capturing its position and movement.

This fun activity helped the children develop their observational drawing skills, understand how simple lines can show movement and appreciate how people have represented the human figure in art for thousands of years.

We are so proud of their fantastic efforts!

Take a look at a selection of their lively stick people drawings below!
