Heroes Week
We have been doing lots of outdoor learning this week, especially when learning about capacity, floating and sinking- the weather has really been fabulous for us!
We are, however, looking ahead now to next week -HEROES WEEK- and thinking about all the exciting plans!
We will be having talks from various local heroes and are looking forward to hearing about heroic jobs and people within the community.
Don’t forget that, on Friday, you can dress up as one of the heroes you have learned about and bring in a bottle for ‘Pop and Proms’ instead of a donation.
Thank you for your continued support,
The Early Years Team
Marwell Meerkat Madness!
Can you believe how busy we have been this week?
Not only did some lovely parent helpers take us to Marwell but we even had a visit from Trish and Sam from Petersfield South Central Ambulance Service!
Home learning this week is to learn your home address in case of an emergency and, if you can, write some facts about the animals you saw!
Have a happy and restful weekend,,
Miss Moncreaff and Mrs Stray
MARWELL MADNESS
Are you looking forward to Monday? We certainly are!
Please bear in mind these top tips:
The weather on Monday is currently forecast to be warm with scattered showers. We therefore ask that every child has:
- School uniform
- Sensible shoes they can walk in (we don’t want any blisters!)
- A rucksack (as your child will be carrying their own lunch until 11.30am)
- A water bottle (no fizzy drinks)
- A layer of sun-cream on
- A lightweight, hooded, waterproof coat (e.g. pack-a-mac)
If your child is bringing their own lunch please ensure it is in a disposable bag in their rucksack, no glass or fizzy drinks please! Please don’t send in a lunchbox or plastic containers as your child will have to carry this round the zoo all day.
Lastly, we will not be visiting the gift-shop as we simply won’t have enough time. Please do not send your child in with money.
Thank you for your support, we are very much looking forward to Monday.
Welcome back!
It has been great having the children back in school this week: they seem well rested and ready for the summer term!
We kicked things off with our new ‘wild things’ topic which you will see from our home learning pyramid. This means we have been using our imaginations to create our own wild things and have used this as a context for our writing. Do you have any wild stories at home that you could read at bed time?
We are looking forward to our trip to Staunton on Monday. Please ensure that children are dressed appropriately and have a coat and their wellies (if not already in school).
Thanks to all our fabulous volunteers which have enabled the trip to go ahead.
Have a great weekend!
Miss Moncreaff, Mrs White, Mrs Stray and Mrs O’Carolan
What a chick-tastic week!
I’m sure you will all know by now that we have chicks in reception! Please ask your children all about them as they will be able to tell you lots. We have been writing to the chicks, about the chicks, and weighing them as well as their eggs.
Please continue to check the blog and tapestry for more updates!
