Year 5 Visit Fishbourne

This morning, Year 5 headed off to Fishbourne Roman Palace for a day of exploring the historic ruins and to find out more about this fascinating building.

The day was a great success and wouldn’t have been possible without the help of the adults that came along so a BIG thank you to them!

The weather was warm and sunny, and children had the chance to explore the mosaics, gardens and discovery centre before letting off some steam on the grass during lunch. After that, we headed into the classrooms to find out more about a Roman’s daily life.

Here are some pictures from the visit.

Year 5 Talent Show

This morning, year 5 staged their very own talent show for the parents, grandparents and families as well as the pupils in year 6.

What a spectacle of talent it was! Singing, dancing, acrobatics, comedy and musical cup things were amongst the acts on show.

The talent show was held for a great cause and thanks to the overwhelming generosity and appreciation of the talent on show, we raised an amazing £125.50 for the charity CAFOD.

Thank you to anyone who came to watch and made a donation and a massive well done to the year 5’s for all their hard work and personal rehearsals over the past few weeks.DSCN0933 DSCN0933 DSCN0939 DSCN0944 DSCN0954 DSCN0957 DSCN0959 DSCN0962 DSCN0969 DSCN0976 DSCN0977

Year 5 Visit Staunton Country Park

On Wednesday 12th March, year 5 visited Staunton Country Park to learn take part in a ‘water is life’ workshop as well as exploring the grounds and completing their own activities based on information that can be found round the park. The weather was fine and everyone enjoyed being out and about in the fresh air. Gemma, the education officer, led the guided session where we covered lots of watery topics such as; the water cycle, saving water, how plants adapt to wet environments and much more. We will be re-visiting Staunton later this year to find out all about where our food comes from.
