Week 6 – 7th April 2017

This week the children have been developing their understanding problem solving using line graphs and Roman numerals. In English, they have been writing their space themed poem.

For homework the children have: spellings (from a mixture of the YR 3/4 and 5/6 words), science homework – to find out about how chemists create new materials, for example, Spencer Silver, who invented the glue for sticky notes, R.E (see home learning journal), Mymaths and they need to complete the week 1 section from their new homework pyramid. This homework is due by Friday 28th April. Children are more than welcome to bring their homework in early if they have completed it.

This week Jessica Veal (5E) received the golden leaf award for ‘using the gifts God gave her for being a good friend and always having a smile’ and Zane Lockyer (5E) has his writing displayed on the showstoppers wall. Mia Dazley (5F) received the golden leaf award for ‘using the gifts God gave her to be a thoughtful and caring person’. Rebecca Atkins (5F) has her work on the showstoppers wall too.

Just a reminder that the children will need to bring their P.E kits and water bottles back on the first day of term. Also for those who are planning to take part in the history competition, the closing date is Friday 5th May (see the link below for more details).
