This week the children have been developing their understanding of: multiplying large numbers by 1 and 2 digit numbers, finding prime numbers and factors. In English, the children have watched an animation clip based on the film ‘Avatar’ in order to make notes and then develop these notes into coherent and effective sentences ready for their non-chronological report.
For homework the children have another 6 spellings from the Year 5/6 list, Mymaths and need to complete another section from the homework pyramid. This homework is due by next Friday (10th March). Children are more than welcome to bring their homework in early if they have completed it.
There was no Golden Leaf assembly this week due to World Book Day events.
It was so nice to see the children taking part in our dressing up day to support World Book Day. Such amazing costumes have been parading around the school! Please take time to look at the pictures taken of 5E and 5F.
Just a reminder that next week St Peter’s will be encouraging the children to donate money for the ‘Big Fish’ fundraiser organised by CAFOD. In particular, both Yr 5 classes will have a large fish to cover with coins. Please could children bring their donations to class throughout the coming week. Please see the attached document for more details about CAFOD events.
We are pleased to say that Erin Freeman will be reading her CAFOD speech at Sacred Heart Church this Sunday.
Have a brilliant weekend,SP2 WK1
