This week the children have been developing their understanding of fractions, decimals and percentages. They have started writing their adventure story in English. Also, they have been learning about some different aspects of Sikhism to promote multi-faiths.
For homework the children have another 6 spellings from the Year 5/6 list, Mymaths and need to complete another section from the homework pyramid. This homework is due by next Friday (17th February). Children are more than welcome to bring their homework in early if they have completed it.
This week Lizzy Moore (5E) received the golden leaf award for ‘using the gifts God gave her to be a kind and caring person; helping others when they are hurt’ and Jessica Woolhead (5E) has his writing displayed on the showstoppers wall. Kieran Whittamore (5F) received the golden leaf award for ‘using the gifts God gave him to be thoughtful towards others’. Sophie Cunningham (5F) has her work on the showstoppers wall too.
Well done to the children who took part in the Maths Challenge event at Oaklands this week, they worked very hard and represented St Peters brilliantly!
Also, congratulations to our CAFOD speakers: Saoirse Lehane, Isaac Ash and Oscar Knight for coming second in the Speakers event on Tuesday!
We hope you see you at our Year 5 and 6 Mass next Tuesday at 10:20am.
Have a great weekend,
The Year 5 team
