Cultural Connections

Today as part of our whole school EARA project, the children from each class got to share about their cultures and heritage.

In 5JNS we learned about Nigeria from Jess and Jayden, Ghana from Aurelia, Poland from Adam and Lithuania from Laura and Maria.

The children showed us pictures of these countries, shared facts and things that they find interesting about their cultures. During the presentations, we learned that Jollof rice is popular in Nigeria and Ghana. Ghana found independence after WW2 and its name was changed from the Gold Coast to Ghana. We learned that Adam is fluent in Polish and his name is Adash in Polish. And we also learned that Lithuania celebrated their independence every year from the Soviet Union.

It was really interesting learning more about the diversity in our class and we hope to find out more again soon!
