The final half term of this academic year has seen children learning about the properties of 3-D shapes where they have explored how different nets can be created using a range of 2-D shapes. In English children have taken their notes from their research on Indian animals and have begun to look at how they can use this knowledge to create a non-chronological report.

Next week we have our Year 5 and 6 Pentecost mass at Sacred Heart Church. We do hope that you can join us for this celebration on Tuesday at 10:30am. Thank you to those parents who have offered to walk with us to and from the church. If you are interested in helping us accompany the children to the mass please get in touch as soon as possible.

Children are working in teams to research one of seven topics linked to India with the aim of producing a travel brochure about this country. Again, if you can offer your services to help children learn more about India please get in touch. This could be coming in and talking to the children about Indian traditions, reading a folk-tale, a cooking demonstration of a simple Indian dish or sharing Indian artefacts such as clothing or jewellery.

Hope you have a great weekend!

Year 5 team.
