Week 7 – 21st July, 2017

This week the children have been consolidating their knowledge about time and reading timetables. In English, they have been editing and publishing their text related to the Egyptian topic they have chosen.

For homework over the holidays the children will need to recap spellings from the Year 5 and 6 spelling list; Mymaths and they need to complete the Sacaments homework in their Home Learning Diaries (found after the 26th June page). This homework is due by the first Friday back in school (8th Sept). Children are more than welcome to bring their homework in earlier that week if they have completed it.

This week Imogen Rivers (5E) received the golden leaf award for ‘using the gifts God gave her to write a reflective response during R.E’. Jonathan Smith (5F) received the golden leaf award for ‘using the gifts God gave him to always work hard and be kind towards others.’

There was no showstopper writing as attendance awards were handed out.

Today Year 5 had a visit from the Betty Bus organisation to consolidate their SRE learning this half term. The people who ran the workshops were very impressed with our children’s knowledge and caring attitudes.

Well done to Year 5 for having the highest attendance and punctuality throughout the year (see parent mail)!

Have a lovely weekend,

The Year 5 team
