Pop Art Pumpkins – Year 5’s Colourful Creations!
Our talented Year 5 artists have been exploring the exciting and colourful world of Pop Art, taking inspiration from the bold and vibrant artwork of Brazilian artist Romero Britto.
The children discovered how Britto uses bright colours, strong black outlines and eye-catching patterns to create his distinctive artwork. Inspired by his unique style, they designed their own fabulous pumpkins using Sharpies and felt-tip pens.
The children experimented with contrasting colours, geometric shapes and imaginative patterns to transform ordinary pumpkins into striking pieces of Pop Art!
Year 5 really embraced this colourful project, showing fantastic enthusiasm, creativity and attention to detail. It was wonderful to see their individual personalities shining through in their designs.
We are incredibly proud of their bold, bright and beautiful pumpkin masterpieces!

Boomerang Art – Year 5’s Stories Through Art! 🪃🌏
Our talented Year 5 artists have been exploring the rich artistic traditions of Aboriginal Australian peoples, learning how art can be used to communicate stories, celebrate culture and express connections to the land and nature.
The children discovered how Aboriginal Australian artists use symbols, patterns, colours and dot-painting techniques to share stories and represent important aspects of their culture. Inspired by their learning, the children designed and decorated their own boomerangs using paints and coloured pencils.
Each boomerang was unique and told its own special story, with the children carefully choosing colours, patterns and symbols to represent their ideas.
Throughout this project, Year 5 demonstrated wonderful creativity, concentration and, most importantly, great respect for the cultural traditions they were learning about. We also reflected on the importance of respecting and celebrating different cultures, linking our learning to Catholic Social Teaching and the dignity of every person.
We are incredibly proud of their thoughtful and beautifully decorated boomerangs!
