Monthly Archives: February, 2023

Welcome back!

Hi everyone,

We hope that you are all well and enjoying the week so far.

We have enjoyed celebrating the Ash Wednesday service and have been thinking about how we can pray, give and act to keep Jesus at the centre of our hearts. Please see the photos below…

In English, we have been studying Spring TIme poetry and enjoying the beauty of the nature around us. In Maths, we have been learning various methods for multiplication of two and three digit numbers. We look forward to moving on to division strategies on Monday. Next week, we shall be celebrating World Book day which shall take place on Thursday 2nd March 2023. Which of your favourite book characters will you dress up as?

We hope you all have a pleasant weekend,

Best wishes,

Year Four Team

A busy half term!

Hello everyone!

We hope that you are all doing well and that you have been enjoying the Winter sunshine.

This week, the children shall continue their wider curriculum learning, including Physical Education with CM sports as well as French! In particular, Year Four have really enjoyed taking part in keyboard sessions with Hampshire Music Service this half term, as part of their music curriculum. They have been learning how to read notes, recognise ‘rests’ and dynamics, as well as beats within a rhythm! Please see the photo below…

A few quick reminders before the end of term:

  • Please ensure your child continues to practise their Times Table Rockstars for 10 mins a day. This will help your child to best prepare for the Y4 multiplication check in the Summer Term.
  • Red and Yellow home learning books to be handed in by Thursday 9th February 2023.
  • INSET day on Friday 10th February 2023.
  • World Book Day: Thursday 2nd March 2023.

We look forward to welcoming you all back to school on Monday 20th February 2023.

Best wishes,

Year Four Team
