Big Summer Blowout!

Hello everyone,

We hope you are keeping well and not too miserable about the weather.

It has been another busy week in year 4! To start with, the Big Summer Blow Out was a huge success. All evening, the children were giggling, smiling and enjoying the outdoors whilst putting their team building skills , sportsmanship, and creativity to the test. The children all had a go at team building games, which required them to use their communication and team skills. This was really put to the test when they had to create the strongest egg structure that had to withstand Miss Jackson-Nash dropping their eggs from a height! The children then went hunting for minibeasts and much to Mrs Wibberly’s delight the children managed to  capture an Ear Wig, centipede, lots of spiders and even a bumble bee (no minibeasts were harmed and all were released) . Mr Crozier and Mr Cunningham became competitive coaches when watching the children play dodgeball. Mrs Pearson and Miss Honeywell inspired the children to create beautiful art work using natural resources just like Andy Goldsworthy!

At the end of the night, the children settled down with toasted marshmallows to create smores and listened to ‘The Last Viking’  read by Mr Cunningham. It was such a perfect evening that the children truly deserved as they have all worked so hard. They were all beautifully behaved and very grateful they could spend the evening with their friends and teachers having fun!

A few polite reminders for next week –

  • Well done for all of those children who handed in their Reading Passports. The winning class will be announced next week!
  • Please ensure children are completing your spelling and vocabulary homework which is due Thursday 15th July 2021.
  • Please send your child in their correct PE kits on Thursday 15th July 2021 for their CM sports session.

We hope you have a lovely weekend, and who knows it may be coming home!

Miss Jackson-Nash, Miss Honeywell and Mrs Cairns
