Transition Week

Dear all,

What an end to another busy week! The children have really enjoyed their transition session to Year 5. They have taken on the challenges and worked well collaborative and individually to achieve their learning goals. A really successful two sessions. We also got to see their fantastic art skills as well.

In English, we have been creating our dreamtime stories and using all the sentence and vocabulary knowledge and skills to create narrative to hook and interest our reader. We will continue our stories next week.

In Maths, we have been continuing with our Geometry unit investigating different types of triangles and using our properties knowledge to create different regular and irregular polygons. We will look at translation of shapes using co-ordinates next week.

In History, we have been continuing with our Anglo-Saxon and Viking unit and we have been considering the reputation of the Vikings and will continue to investigate whether the Vikings were more Raiders or Settlers back in the 7th Century.

Camping!

Dear all,

What an end to another busy week! It was lovely to see so many faces as year 4 camped on the school field Friday night. We began the evening with five different activities: den building, scavenger hunt, team building games, dodgeball and nature artwork.

We followed this with a fish and chip supper.

Before bed, Mr Cunningham read us all a story whilst we toasted marshmallows over the fire.  Everyone left Saturday morning having thoroughly enjoyed the experience, even if they were feeling a bit sleepy!
