Hampshire Information Book Award
Are you brave enough to meet the incredible giants that shared the Stone Age world with our ancestors? From the woolly mammoth to the fearsome sabre-toothed cat, and from the giant eagle swooping in the skies to the six-metre snake slithering along the forest floor, this is an awesome introduction to prehistory’s biggest beasts.
The winner of this year’s Hampshire Information Book Award is ‘Stone Age Beasts’ written by Ben Lerwill and illustrated by Grahame Baker-Smith.
Our pupils in Koala and Kangaroo class were amazed by the jaw-dropping facts and amazing illustrations.

Hampshire Picture Book Award
Puffer Fish and Turtle class recently took part in the Hampshire Picture Book Award 2026. They read, explored and reviewed four new picture books, chosen by the School Library Service. The children listened to the stories during library time, looked at the entertaining illustrations and then each chose their favourite title; every vote was counted and sent in to the School Library Service.
Most of our pupils agreed with Year 1 pupils across Hampshire and the overall winner was ‘Everywhere with You’ written by Carlie Sorosiak.
