Wow! Wow! Wow! These boys always work hard and produce fantastic artwork, but for VE Day they have really excelled! Max (Year 1) and Kiean (Year R) have made a vast array of fantastic art. They used recycled boxes and toilet rolls to make a terrific tank and then painted it with camouflage colours. so that it looks very authentic. Then they coloured in some posters and made a huge Union Jack poster, which looks simply stunning.
After that they boys made some poppies but in different ways. Kiean used a balloon to make his bunting, while Max used paper plates to make his. However, they both look amazing!
They boys also made some sausage rolls and scones and enjoyed a party in the garden, listening to some 1940’s music and playing some traditional games. It sounds like the whole family had a great time celebrating VE Day. Thanks for sharing your brilliant art with us all!

Wow! Wow! Wow! This is a very powerful piece of art with a very powerful message. Jonah (Year 3) has been working all week on this fascinating project and it’s too good not to share with you all. Jonah has been busy researching and learning about the role that the Monuments Men played towards the end of the Second World War. They were instrumental in ensuring that important and significant pieces of art and statues were not destroyed by Hitler and his army. Once the war was over they also returned the art to their rightful owners. Jonah has worked hard on a collage to celebrate what they did for art and culture. Without them a great deal of art would have been lost forever. It is clearly evident that Jonah has dedicated a great deal of time on this, but I’m so glad he did because it is such an important reminder for us all and a truly stunning collage. Thank you so much for sharing this with us Jonah and thank you to the Monuments men who preserved so much art that will be cherished for generations to come!
