15th Sunday of Ordinary Time

Make the impossible possible was the theme of this weeks worship. Mrs. Pfeiffer talked to the school about a disabled boy who became world class at wheelchair athletics. He said that if you change the way that you think about disability then anything is possible. He was a determined young man who made choices that enhanced his quality of life. By making choices through our relationship with Jesus we can do the same; our lives can flourish because of our faith.

In class all children continue their journey in learning about sacraments. Children in Year 5 have been learning about the wedding of Sarah and Tobias and then linking this to the promises made in marriage today.

Children in year 4 and 5 have been considering why there are less priests, nuns and practising Catholics in the world today. Year 5 turned their attention to whether it was because God was calling less people. They had plenty of their own ideas showing an excellent understanding of theology but also drawing on information that they found on the internet for example the quote by Pope Francis:

pope

Children in Year one have been exploring symbols of peace which are used in the bible and in the sacraments.

We have just one week left of our Summer Term. On Tuesday Year 6  enjoyed a much deserved fun day with bouncy castles on the field and a disco in the hall. We will miss all of our year 6 children and wish them love and prayers for their future.

Enjoy the last week of school runs!

Best wishes,

Sarah Luter
