Summer Reading Challenge 2025

This year’s Summer Reading Challenge is called ‘Story Garden’ and will be arriving online at www.summerreadingchallenge.org.uk and in your local library from Saturday 12th July 2025. You can sign up for free in your local library or online, to receive your ‘Story Garden’ sticker booklet. The challenge is to read a number of books over the summer holiday and collect stickers and other rewards for each book you read. When completed, you may be awarded an eco-friendly sustainable medal and a certificate.

St Peters will also be giving a reward to every child that completes the Summer Reading Challenge. All you need to do is bring in your certificate when we return to school in September and show it to Mrs Porter in the library, to receive a small prize.
The Summer Reading Challenge encourages children to keep reading during the summer holidays, ensuring they are ready for a great start to the new term in the autumn. So please encourage your child to take on the challenge and maybe you could aim to read six books too!

Thank you to everyone who has come into the library to find a quiet place, to browse through story books, non-fiction texts and newspapers and to borrow and regularly return their books.
A special thank you to the excellent junior librarians, who have worked diligently throughout the year to keep the library tidy, arrange displays and exchange books in the classroom book corners.
