PE notices, SummerFest and Sports Day!

Hello all!

A few notices for you…

Just a quick reminder that it is the school’s Sports Day this Monday 1st July. It is a 9:15 a.m. start and it would be great for as much parental/carer support as possible (and good weather)! Please check for a Parentmail for more details!

It has been a busy half-term with our inter-school competitions. St Peter’s have put teams forward for tennis, athletics, cricket and orienteering – they have competed against other schools in the South-East Hampshire area.

This year, St Peter’s also entered a cross-country team into the South-East Hampshire running league for the Spring Term. The children took part in the cross-country races at Portsdown Hill on a Friday afternoon from 4:00 pm. The league culminated with the finals taking place at Crookhorn Secondary School on a rainy afternoon – the team showed such resilience in the harsh running conditions and did themselves proud! They all showed great commitment levels! Mr Land and Mrs Burrows congratulate you! We are looking to grow this after-school club even further in September, so if your child likes a challenge and to build their ‘grit’ and fitness, then they can always join the club.

This Friday also sees our SummerFest at the school site from 5:30pm, where the children of St Peter’s will be showing their Western-themed dance that they have been preparing with CM Sports for the last half-term in their PE lessons. The children have thoroughly enjoyed the process of learning the dance and I have witnessed first-hand how good the Year 4 and Year 6 dance is!

Thank you, and hopefully I will see you at the SummerFest and the Sports Day!

Mr Land
