I continue to be amazed by the  fantastic artwork that has been shared on the Blog..huge thanks to everyone who has taken the time to email their creations to me.

 I have been busy in school this week, but have also found the time to attend to my garden, in between the blustery winds and odd shower!  Our tortoise, Shelley, has also been enjoying the garden, but I was less impressed when she broke free and started to eat my plants!  Lots of you will know how long it has taken me to grow and nurture them, so it was a shock to see Shelley nibbling my fuchsia bush!

For this week’s Art Challenge I would like you to produce some art using old newspapers or magazines!  It can be anything from cutting out shapes and creating your own abstract art, or landscape, to making something using Paper Mache.  What you make can be left black and white or even painted (using watercolours is very effective).  Whatever you create I’m sure you will ‘Make the headlines’ on the Art Blog!

This amazing  pyramid made of Lego has been patiently made by Ben (Year 3) Ssshh I’ll let you into a secret… there is  a mummy in the burial chamber! This is brilliant Ben and thanks for sharing!

Wow! Essie has been busy creating figures, making flowers and creating sparkly things 💕.  It is clear that she has spent a great deal of time on these crafts. Fantastic work Essie and thanks for sharing!

ALOHA! Ruby (Year 4)  and her mum have been busy creating these fantastic Hawaiian crafts. They made the flower garlands out of tissue paper and the masks were made out of clay which they then painted. I think they look incredible and very realistic…just right for an Hawaiian themed party in the garden! Great work Ruby….and your mum…and thanks for sharing!

These pictures are truly a work of art! They have been created by Josh (Year 6) and Emelia (Year 4), using spray paints.  They have put in a great deal  of time and effort, but it well well worth it because the end result totally amazing.  Great work on the unicorn Emelia and the elephants Josh and thanks for sharing!

Wow! These painted stones, by Emily (Year 5), are totally amazing.  She has taken her time and very carefully drawn and painted them and I don’t know which is cuter…the dog or the unicorn…I can’t decide, can you?  Fab work Emily and thank you so much for sharing them with us

I just love the creativity that has gone into the making of this ‘Alien dragon’, by Luke (Year 2) . He has used sticklebricks and as you can see he has done a superb job.  Bravo Luke!

Oh my goodness! This picture of a tortoise giving a panda a ride, by Riya (Year 4), is simply adorable.  I just love the expression on the panda’s face.  Wherever they are going i think it’s going to take an awfully long time!  Great picture Riya and thanks for sharing.

Wow! Wow! Wow! These leaf animals are just simply stunning! Maksym (Year 2) has made the magnificent lion, while his sister Dominika (Year 4) has made this delightful bird.  I just love them!  Thank you for sharing them with us.

What a majestic lion that Amelia has painted, using just her fingers! It looks absolutely awesome – thanks for sharing this Amelia!

Sabrina (Year 5)  has been busy creating a ‘Minecraft Farm’ with lots of animals.  Can you spot them all? Thanks for sharing this with us Sabrina.

Look at these beautiful peacocks that Dillon (Year 1) and Conor (Year 4) have made.  As you can see, they used finger painting to created the fabulous, multi-coloured tails.  Brilliant work boys and thank you for sharing!

Kian (Year 6) has very cleverly morphed different animals together to create new mythical creatures.  Can you see what animals he has morphed together?  Wonderful creativity Kian – thank you so much for sharing this with us.

The Jordan family have enjoyed making these awesome origami farm animals.  Ethan (Year 4) Katie (Year 2) and Isla and Eve (Year 1) have worked together to make their own ‘farm family’. As you can see, they have done an amazing job…well done and thanks for sharing!

I love this picture of a turtle that Joe (Year 6) has drawn.  It’s very cute and extremely well drawn. Thanks for sharing!

Mostyn (Year 3) has done an amazing job with the animal magic challenge this week! This is what his mummy wrote: ‘Mostyn started drawing a rhino from a You-Tube video. He did two different versions, but then decided this was too tricky to transfer onto the brick!! He then drew a rabbit! We have been planting in our flower bed and when digging a hole for some lavender Mostyn dug up this huge brick! He decided he wanted to paint his rabbit on this! 🙈’  Wow! you have done a spectacular job Mostyn and I’m sure you have inspired other children to give these creation a try.  Thank you so much for sharing them with us!

This delightful seal has been made by Islwyn (Year 6) and really shows off his talent for creating crafts.  This is what he wrote:  ‘At the weekend I made a seal from felt. I cut out a pattern then sewed it together. I used a sewing machine for some of it and then a needle and thread for the rest. I chose a seal as I am in Seal Class!’  Wonderful work Islwyn and thanks for sharing!

These sisters have been busy creating again this week and this time they have painted these superb stones.  Eva (Year 5) has made this lovely ladybird…..

while Emma (Year 4) has made this terrific turtle. Both of them are adorable…thanks for sharing them with us girls!

This super, cute panda has been drawn by Aaron (Year 5).  As you can see, he has plenty of bamboo shoot to eat! Great work Aaron!

Just look at this stunning picture that Lola (year 3) has created.  This is what her mum wrote about it: ‘Lola’s ‘animal inspiration’ comes from the fact that during our daily walks, we go and say ‘hello’ to a number of horses that are kept in fields local to us. We don’t know any details of these horses, however, Lola has fallen for each of them, even giving them names; Bella, Blaze, Buttercup, Blacksmith, Blueberry, Bonnie and Beauty. Lola’s picture is of ‘Blaze’ who has a stripe across her left shoulder. The rainbow reference relates to the Covid 19 crisis and that we remain forever hopeful!’  What a totally brilliant reason for your artwork this week Lola.  Thank you for sharing this with us Lola…and mum!

What an absolutely amazing lion mask that Hattie (Year 2) has made, using a cardboard box.  It looks totally awesome and I love the detail that she has added to the face. Well done Hattie and thanks for sharing!

Wow! Look at this spectacular drawing and painting of a lion by Alana (Year 4).  After drawing the lion she then finger painted the mane on.  Is there no end to Alana’s talents?! Thank you for sharing this with us!

 William has got a very vivid imagination and have come up with this amazing animal. He  has created a Dragat, which is a cross between a dragon and a cat. It lives in a volcano that shoots out lava. It eats meat but not humans… Phew! Thank goodness for that!  Fantastic drawing William – well done!

Meanwhile his brother George (Year 3) has drawn this spectacular,  super fierce fox using his favourite colours. He has used oil pastels, which make  the colours really vibrant.  Brilliant work George and thanks for sharing!

This is a very impressive drawing of a Great White Shark by Noah (Year 4).  He is fascinated by them and has been watching lots of documentaries about them with his family.  As you can see, Noah has included lots of detail in his drawing.  Bravo Noah and thanks for sharing!

I just love this! Ben (Year 3) has painted a mythical creature, which is based on one of his  favourite toys called Stuffy. However, he  has added some wings to him and he looks superb.  I wonder where he would fly to on his first adventure? Well done Ben and thanks so much for sharing this with us!

What a spectacular Phoenix  that Calin (Year 4) has drawn.  It is very detailed and he has coloured it really carefully.  Top job Calin and thank you for sharing!

Oh my goodness!  Just take a look at these super cute penguins that Florence (Year R) has made.  Don’t they look fabulous?  She made one for herself and then kindly made one for her brother so that they could play with them together…what a very kind sister.  I bet they had fun!  Well done Florence and thanks for sharing!

I absolutely love Darcy’s imagination…she has created her own animals by putting two animals together.  Can you guess which animals she has put together? Aimee (Year 3) and Sofia (Year 1) have been very busy making even more awesome artwork. As you can see, they have made an array of amazing animals which are all very delightful.  Great crafting girls and thank you so much for sharing!

Alfie (Year 5) has made a fantastic  dinosaur model, which he has  named is Skelabone. Alfie got this amazing dinosaur book as a present and the dinosaur was flat packed in the book and Alfie took his time to carefully construct it and put it altogether.  As you can see he has done a splendid job…  Bravo Alfie!

This magical, mythical unicorn has been drawn by Catherine (Year 1) and I think it looks awesome! Did you know that the unicorn is the national animal of Scotland? Amazing drawing Catherine and thank you for sharing!

Look at this amazing drawing of a Bombay cat by Brayden (Year 4).  Not only has he drawn the cat beautifully, but he has also done a great background. Fab work Brayden and thanks for sharing!

This fabulous bird has been carefully coloured by Joseph (Year 5) and really does look stunning. Well done Joseph!

Wow! This multi-coloured gorilla has been brilliantly coloured by Luke (Year 3) and it is clear he has done a truly outstanding job.  Thanks for sharing Luke!

Humphrey (Year 1) has drawn this magnificent lizard that he has called ‘Spike’.  I can see that he has really taken his time to carefully draw the detail on the lizard and the end result is amazing.  Great work Humphrey – thanks for sharing!

Wow! Look at this brilliant butterfly stone that Evie (Year 2) has made.  As you can see, she has carefully painted it and added glitter so that the overall effect is just amazing!  Well done Evie and thanks for sharing.

I hope you have all had a lovely half term and have managed to get outdoors and enjoy the magnificent weather.

I have managed to get out and about on my bike and enjoy the local area.  I often cycle through Queen’s Inclosure Woods and have recently discovered Billy’s Lake, which is beautiful.

Many of you will know that I have been doing lots of gardening in the last few weeks.  I was getting frustrated at the lack of flowers, considering all my hard work, but in the last ten days everything seems to have sprung to life.  I am particularly pleased with my poppies….maybe I do have green fingers after all!

ANIMAL MAGIC!

Anyway…back to business!….For this week’s Art Challenge I would like you to produce some art that is linked to ANIMALS!  Your animal can live on the land, in the sea or the sky. If you prefer, you can make your own mythical animal from your own imagination… or even a fusion of two animals.  It can be a drawing, a painting, it can be made from a kitchen roll tube,  a painted stone, made from things you find in the woods or at the beach or anything else that you can think of. I’m sure you will  create something ‘magical’, as always!

We are fortunate to have so many talented families at St Peter’s that have impressed everyone with their creativity over the last few weeks.  I have had many, many people message me to say how fantastic the Art Blog is from, parents, staff, children and parishioners from Sacred Heart.  All of this makes me feel a little guilty because it isn’t my art they are praising it is all of your fabulous creations, so I pass their praise on to each and everyone who has taken the time to email me with your art…you really are a talented bunch!

In other news, I had some great surprises on Monday…it was my birthday and some delightful children from Year 1 put together a beautiful medley of birthday messages and songs!  I also had lots of birthday wishes via email and a lovely picture from these sisters..

…so thank you for making my birthday so special.

This week there will be NO HOME LEARNING SET.  Instead, I would like you to get out and about ( within the Government guidelines of course!)  and enjoy the beauty of art that is all around us and I hope that inspires you to always think creatively.

Goodness me Natalia has been busy creating again!  Today she has made the famous landmark Stonehenge  out of her dad’s old toy wooden blocks, which are very old, but not as  old like Stonehenge! Natalia, you have done a brilliant job of recreating Stonehenge – thank you and thanks to your dad for lending you his wood blocks from his childhood!

Wow! I’m blown away by this creation! Aurora (Year 4) has recreated Stonehenge using bricks and building materials from her back garden. It is not only clever and creative, but the fact that the photo is in black and white adds to the overall effect. Bravo Aurora and thank you for sharing this with us.

Look at this fabulous creation that has been made by Raffaella (Year 1).  She has created a castle (complete with moving portcullis) out of cardboard and other recycling materials we had at home.  This is an amazing piece of artwork and Raffaella should be very proud of herself.  Great work and thanks for sharing!

Wow!  What a terrific tower bridge that Phoebe (Year 1) has made using Lego. Great work Phoebe and thank you for sharing this with us!

Wow! This is an impressive drawing of the Pyramids at Cairo by Phoebe (Year 3).  As you can see she has even added the river Nile to her picture.  Well done Phoebe and thanks for sharing!

This Great Wall of China and London Eye that Faith (Year 6) has made are fabulous and the London Eye actually spins! Faith and Luke’s dad is an artist and graphic designer, so he has clearly passed on his talents to his children. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Luke (Year 2)  has made this absolutely amazing Big Ben and London bus from Lego, with a little help from his dad  Great work, as they both look amazing! Thank you for sharing.

Wow! Wow! Wow!  This Eiffel Tower that Olivia (Year 4) has drawn is ‘simply stunning’. Just take a look and see how much detail she has put in to every part of it.  I know this would have taken an incredible amount of time an patience, but it has paid off because the end result is totally amazing.  Thank you so much for sharing this with us Olivia!

This spectacular Eiffel Tower has been created by Cian (Year 4).  Although it was very tricky to do he didn’t give up and as you can see he has done an excellent job and it is easily recognisable. Brilliant work Cian and thank you for persevering!

Presenting  Amelia’s Tower Bridge built from chairs, cardboard, pillows, string and plant pots. ☺  I have to say that Amelia (Year 1) has done a terrific job and has even drawn a picture to go with it.  Very creative Amelia and what a lovely mum to let you turn this room into a famous landmark!

 Caelan (Year 1) and his Mummy researched  famous landmarks across the world. Caelan then decided he wanted to use his Duplo to make the Tokyo Tower and Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament.  He should be very proud of his efforts…well done Caelan!

Callum (Year 4) and Chloe (Year 2) worked together and have done an amazing job creating famous landmarks, using lolly sticks. They chose Big Ben, the Effiel Tower,  the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Harland and Wolff cranes, which built the Titanic in Belfast where their grandparents live. Wow! They have done a terrific job – thank you so much for sharing these with us.

These brothers always give 100% to any art project they do and as you can see from these fantastic paintings they have again today! They both decided to  paint the Eiffel Tower and used their fingertips to create dots like the technique of pointillism, first made famous by Georges Seurat. Kiean’s (Year R) Eiffel Tower looks spectacular with a yellow background because he says the sun shines everywhere. Max (Year One) has  done a magnificent multi-coloured Eiffel Tower with two contrasting colours for the background and another two at the bottom, which gives an amazing overall effect.  Fantastic work boys and thank you so much for sharing these pictures.  I’m sure you will inspire others to give this technique a try!

Diyona (Year 4) has made this spectacular Big Ben using Roblox and I think she has done it very well because it looks fantastic. Thank you for sharing this with us Diyona.

As you can see, Johan (Year 3) is very proud of the Tower Bridge that he has made out of Lego, and rightly so because he has done an excellent job.  Well done Johan and thanks for sharing!

Look at this lovely picture of Hollywood that Isabeau (Year 3) has made, which really shows off her painting skills. Fab work Isabeau!

This is a fantastic sculpture of the Empire State building made out of Lego that has been created by Brayden (Year 3). He has done an amazing job – Bravo Brayden!

What a brilliant picture of the London Eye that Calin (Year 4) has created.  This is a very detailed drawing that shows a great deal of skill.  Well done Calin!

Noah (Year 4) has made this marvellous Big Ben on Minecraft and he has done an absolutely amazing job.  It really shows off his building skills and this iconic landmark is very recognisable.  Great work Noah and thank you so much for sharing this with us.

This fantastic London Eye has been cleverly created by Emily (Year 5). As you can see an enormous amount of skill and patience has gone in to creating it and the finished sculpture is just awesome! Very well done Emily and thanks for sharing!

Wow! Wow Wow! Alana always amazes me with her outstanding artwork and she has doe it again with this magnificent sculpture of Big Ben.  It is very detailed and has obviously taken the talented Alana  a great deal of time and effort, but it is well worth it as the end result is just superb.  Bravo Alana and thank you so much for sharing this with us.

Goodness me!  Humphrey (Year 1) has made this brilliant Big Ben sculpture using Lego and it looks superb….. a future architect maybe?  Humphrey consistently make marvellous artwork which he is kind enough to share with us all. Thank you Humphrey!

Wow!  What a very clever idea that Hattie has come up with, using magenex to make 3D sculptures of Big Ben and London Bridge.  They not only look fantastic but are also easily recognisable.  Great work Hattie and thanks for sharing!

Wow!  This is a fabulous drawing of a girl by Emi (Year 4).  It is very detailed and I’m particularly impressed at they careful way that she has drawn the eyes. Fantastic work Emi and thanks for sharing!

Wow!  This is where nature looks like a canvas…it is simply stunning.  They planted wild flowers at The Oaks during winter…and now they have burst into life and are a mass of poppies, cornflowers and daisies.  Just beautiful!

Natalia (Year 4) has been creating new life in her garden, where she is growing, tomatoes, onions , pumpkins, sweetcorn, courgette, strawberries.  Yummy I can’t wait until harvest time.  Thank you for sharing these.

Wow! These turtles that Sihanua (Year 6) has drawn, using chalk pastels are breath- taking.  She has skillfully used hues of blue, so that the turtles really look like they are swimming.  Outstanding work Sihanua –  thanks for sharing!

Isa (Year R) has made this fabulous clock and drawn all the numbers on it herself.  Not only is this a great piece of art, but it will also help Isa to learn to tell the time.  Well done Isa and thank you for sharing this with us!

Sabrina (Year 5) has been practising her drawing skills and she has done an excellent job drawing these two people.   Great job Sabrina and thanks for sharing!

Wow! this awesome reinderr has been made by Mason (Year 1), completely out of leaves that he collected.  As you can see he has taken his time and glued them very carefully, so tht the end result id simply stunning!  Magnificent Mason and thanks for sharing!

Caitlin (Year 3) has made this terrific rocket at home and it looks very futuristic.  I LOVE the way it is  decorated with silver and pink. I wonder where you would like to go in this rocket?  Thanks for sharing this Caitlin.

Caitlin then went on to create this magnificent Minecraft set with the help of her dad.  I know this took a long time but it was worth it as it look amazing.  Well done Caitlin…..and Dad!

Goodness me these sisters have been very creative today. Their mum said,  “The girls enjoyed making clay models , they used their own imagination and thought about what they like and I do have to say I like what they made!”  I totally agree with their mum, they done an absolutely fabulous job and they should be very proud of themselves!  Well done  Christina (Year R), Emma (Year 4) and Eva (Year 5)…I always love seeing what you create!

Oh my goodness!  This fabulous  picture has been made by Rozalia (Year R), after a trip to the forest where she collected  a variety of natural materials.  She then came home and carefully created this lovely image.  This reminds me of Andy Goldsworthy and the art he creates, using natural materials.  Fantastic work Rozalia and thank you for sharing this with us.

Wow! Look at this wonderful pinwheel that Amelia has made as part of her RE homework.  It looks so beautiful and would brighten up any garden.  Well done Amelia and thanks for sharing!

Thank you again for all the  fabulous contributions to the Art Blog this week – I am constantly amazed by your creativity.  I was particularly touched by Mrs Moore sending a photo of her niece, Beverley, in her nurses’ uniform standing next to a print of the Banksy that was the inspiration for our superhero challenge.

In other news, our VE posters were displayed at Portsmouth Naval base and if you look on Mr Cunningham’s Blog you will see a letter of thanks.

Also Jonah (Year 3) did his VE Day project about the Monument Men and his mum sent it to the Monument Men society and they want to use his work for educational resources.

This beautiful aquarium has been created by Florence (Year R) using shells that she collected at the beach. This is simply stunning Florence and thank you for sharing!

Florence has also made this brilliant bird feeder, as she and her brother love to watch the birds.  Her mum said that the painting on the feeder reminded her of a Jackson Pollock painting and after looking up pictures on the internet, Florence agreed….and so do I.  Bravo Florence and thanks for sharing!

Oh my goodness!  Cian has been very creative this week and made his own slinky dog and I think is looks fabulous.  It is clear that he has spent a long time making this, but it was well worth it as the end result is stunning!  Great work Cian and thank you so much for sharing!

YUMMY! This rainbow cake, made by Olivia (Year 4) not only looks fantastic, but I’ve had it on good authority that it tasted fantastic too!  I’m writing this while having a coffee and wish I could put my hand through the screen and take a slice of the delicious looking cake.  Olivia then turned her talent from baking to dressmaking, as she created this terrific  tie dye T-shirt, as part of her topic on Hawaii. Wow! It is stunning! Bravo Olivia and thanks for sharing…the photos, but sadly not the cake!

Wow!  These stunning ‘works of art’ have been cleverly created by Felicity (Year 4) ….using SKITTLES!  I think it is absolutely amazing.  Felicity also time lapsed filmed it and I bet that looked awesome!  Great idea Felicity and thank you so much for sharing this with us!

Wow!  What an amazing dove that Alana (Year 4) has created as part of her RE homework this week.  The dove represents the gift of the Holy Spirit and is linked to Pentecost – the birthday of the church. The dove has been beautifully made by Alana and it looks very life like.  I also have to comment on her T-Shirt with has the slogan ‘Always be Yourself’ – what a brilliant message for us all. Thanks for sharing your dove and message with us Alana!

These two crafts have been created by Nethania (Year 4).  The top one is a drawing of a baby and looks very life like, while the bottom shows off her symmetry skills with this very intricate pattern on a paper plate. Brilliant work Nethania and thank you for sharing!

My SUPERHEROES…MY NIECES!

 Mrs Moore has kindly shared this photo of her niece who works at Southampton General hospital in the ICU.  Do you recognise the picture that she is standing next to? Mrs Moore says, “I am so proud of both my nieces. This is Beverley and her sister Julia has just been made a Matron. I couldn’t be more proud of them and all the important work they are doing. Beverley looked at all the pictures on this Blog and said she was so impressed!” Thank you for sharing this photo Mrs Moore and please pass on our thanks to your wonderful nieces for all the incredible work they do…they are true SUPERHEROES to us all!

Max (Year 1) spent all week making this spectacular Spiderman piñata using paper-mâché, which took several layers of newspaper and several days to dry!! He then very carefully painted it and gave him some eyes!  Max says he is now  ready to buy some sweets and destroy his lovely creation 😂…..it seems a shame…but if you do Max then please send a photo!  Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

This amazing puppet created by Ruby (Year 4) is of her NHS superhero who is her great Auntie Julie. She’s a nurse at St Richards hospital and is working extremely hard to keep us all safe.  Thank you Ruby for sharing this …and thank you Auntie Julie for all the caring you do as a nurse.

What a fantastic picture by Eva (Year 2)…. Introducing Superbunny! He is an awesome superhero and goes around helping people and spreading good wishes.  In this picture he is  is fighting two villains: Virus and ButtonGirl, using his magic whiskers and eggs!  The world is a safer place thanks to Superbunny!  Bravo Eva and thanks for sharing Superbunny with us.

Pheobe (Year 3) has draw this amazing superhero poster, with an important message about saving lives.  Well done Pheobe!

Look at this fabulous tribute to the NHS created by Alfie (Year 5).  The symbol of the rainbow is one of hope and the message to ‘stay safe’ is an important one.  Well done Alfie – thanks for sharing!  PS Happy birthday!

William (Year 3) has made this fantastic  poster to give thanks to his heroes at the NHS.  The black background and the bright colours make the overall effect very effective. Simply stunning William –  thanks for sharing!

My SUPERHERO….My NANNY…THE NURSE!

Hattie (Year 2) wanted to pay tribute to her nanny, who is also a nurse.  Hattie thinks she does a fantastic job as a nurse…and a nanny, so is a true hero!  Thank you for sharing this with us Hattie!

My ‘ANTIHERO’!

Benji (Year 5) has turn this week’s challenge on it’s head and created an antihero!  He doesn’t look very friendly and in fact has a very menacing look about him.  All in all, this is a great example of an opposite picture.  Thanks for challenging us Benji by sharing this with us.

My SUPERHERO – DREAMGIRL

This is a fantastic superhero that Darcy (Year 1) has created…from her own imagination!  This is what she says, “I made my superhero, it’s a dream girl superhero that helps make all your good dreams come true and all your bad dreams disappear. Dream girl can also make your worries disappear!”  Wow! What a fantastic idea Darcy….I LOVE this…thank you so much for it with us all.

My SUPERHERO – LEONARDO DA VINCI

Jonah (Year 3) always does amazing art projects and this one is no exception.  One of the brilliant things about Jonah is that he researches a topic before doing any art linked to it.  These photos speak for themselves and show his learning journey.  This is what his mum told me. “Jonah thought about a superhero as someone he thinks is amazing and who he would want to be like.  He chose Leonardo Da Vinci because of his amazing inventions. Jonah never stops building things at home. We looked a different ways of creating art for this but predictably, Bansky won hands down,”  Fabulous work Jonah – thank you so much for sharing this with us and I’m sure you will inspire others to see Da Vinci as a hero too!

Fern (Year 5) has painted this beautiful rainbow to pay tribute to all the nurses who work for the NHS, as these are her heroes.  As you can see, Fern has dressed her doll in a nurses’ uniform and the whole image is very effective. Well done Fern and thanks for sharing!

My SUPERHERO….My MUM!

Evelyn’s (Year R) drawing for the superhero art challenge is of her mum.  Evelyn and her Daddy talked about heroes and how they help other and do good around their community.  Evelyn came to her own conclusion that her mum was a hero because she has been delivering weekly food shops to her own elderly parents who live far away and who have been unable to get deliveries themselves. As you can see from this excellent drawing by Evelyn, here they are in ‘The Hero Car’ delivering the food and staying in the car. After Evelyn and her Dad spoke about the idea Evelyn  got on with  the drawing on her own and has done a fantastic job.  Great work Evelyn and thank you so much for sharing!

What a wonderful drawing of his dad that Noah (Year 4) has done. As you can see his dad is a policeman and Noah is rightly proud of him as he is such a good role model to Noah and many other people.  Well done and thanks for sharing!

I LOVE this picture by Phoebe (Year 1), which is of her mum who is her hero.  I love the way she has painted it so carefully and included three rainbow.  It is clear that your mummy is very special to you Phoebe… Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

My Superhero ….My Mum!

Isabeau (Year 3) has done this wonderful picture of her mum, who is a real superhero.  Isabeau write, My superhero is my mum because she is so helpful and will do anything to make me smile. 🙂 I love you mummy.  What lovely words and a lovely picture.  Thanks for sharing this with us Isabeau.

Humphrey (Year 1) has chosen to draw the Avengers as his superheroes.  He has included Thor and Loki, two heroes that strive to make the world a better place.  Great work Humphrey and thanks for sharing!

My SUPERHERO…..My MUMMY!

This is a sensational picture which is a fitting tribute to a true hero…Hattie’s mum. Not only does Hattie’s mum do all the jobs a mummy does, but she is also a nurse, working extremely hard for the NHS and keeping patients safe and well. Wow!  What an incredible lady!  Thank you Hattie (Year 3) for sharing this with us and thank you mum for everything you do!

My DAD…MY SUPERHERO!

Oh my goodness – what an absolutely amazing picture by Ann (Year 6), which pays tribute to her fantastic dad…her hero! She has  drawn him wearing his favourite jumper and even though his job keeps him very busy he still has time to do the shopping…what a true hero!  Ann, your drawing skill are fabulous – thank you for sharing this with us.

Wow! This is a brilliant poster that conveys a clear, direct message about the heroes of the NHS and the enemy that they are trying to defeat ‘coronavirus’. The artist who created this poster is Esther (Year 6) and she has done a marvellous job. Congratulations Esther and thanks for sharing!

Alexander (Year 1) has done an amazing drawing of his Superhero Robin – Batman’s sidekick. Alexander says,”He is his favourite hero because he is bright coloured, uses his brain to help other people and he is a good team player.” I couldn’t agree more Alexander – good choice of hero and thanks for sharing this with us.

This is what Islwyn (Year 6)  and Mostyn (Year 3) have written: “We have enjoyed drawing superhero pictures. We decided to draw our Daddy as we think he is a ‘covid-19 hero’. He is a key worker, as an Asda manager. He has also set up a group called ‘Hopfield Helpers’, where people can get in contact if they need help. He is currently shopping for 4 other households after his has finished his shift. We are helping to deliver some of the shopping. He is also still running weekly virtual Cub meetings. He is very busy!” Wow! Well I can see why your dad is your hero boys.  Thank you so much for sharing this!

Taylor Year 5) always thinks very creatively with his art challenges and he has done it again with this superhero poster. This is what he says about his artwork. “My Superhero NHS worker is fighting Corona Virus. There is a large eye looking through the window to show that although they are small, they can achieve big things like a traditional Superhero. They are fighting the virus which is a punch bag.”  This is an amazing concept that has been extremely well executed.  Congratulation Taylor on a fantastic picture and thank you so much for sharing this with us.

What a super painting by Amelia (Year 1) to show her hero..SUPERMAN!  Look how she has taken her time to carefully paint it and not mix the colours. She likes his superpower of flying and would like this superpower…so would I Amelia, as there are lots of places that I would love to visit.  Great painting and thanks for sharing!

What a lovely detailed poster that Ben (Year 3) has created to celebrate the heroes at the NHS. He says, “I like the colours and bubble writing. I included the NHS logo. The doctor is wearing his blue scrubs and his mask to protect him and the patient getting Coronavirus.” Well done Ben and thanks for sharing this with us.

I LOVE this trio of superheroes that Evan (Year 3) has created.  Spiderman, Batman and Superman are a formidable force and have been made carefully and precisely, by Evan, and they look absolutely stunning!  Brilliant work Evan and thanks for sharing.

This gave me goosebumps when I first read it….introducing Edward Brown, who is Matthew’s (Year 6) superhero. It is just a shame that he is fictitious.  However, hopefully there is a real Edward Brown out there.  Brilliant imagination Matthew and thank you so much for sharing this with us!

Here is Caelan’s (Year 1) artwork for Superhero theme. He has drawn some of his favourite Superheroes; Ironman, Hulk, Spider-Man and Captain America. Caelan is a huge fan of Marvel. He has also included a rainbow in his picture, as a thank you to our NHS heroes. He created his artwork on his rainbow scratch pad, which is done with a plastic tool to scratch the black and reveal the colours. It looks amazing Caelan.  Thank you for sharing this with us all!

This is simply amazing!  Sophia (Year 4) has taken her inspiration from Banksy and created her own ‘Banksy style story’.  It tells the tale of a boy who changed from always playing with traditional action figures changing his mind and realising that the real super heroes are the doctors, so he goes and buys two Doctor figures to play with instead.  That’s a really impressive story with a lovely message, made all the more special because of the fabulous art that accompanies it. Bravo Sophia and thank you so very much for sharing this with us.  You may inspire other children to play with NHS action figures too!

OUR DAD…..OUR HERO!

This lovely family are paying tribute to their heroes…the NHS workers and in particular THEIR DADDY! As you can see, they have each done their own pictures linked to the NHS.  Christina has made the ‘S’ into the Superman logo and it looks super!  Emma has created a superhero Doctor, which is her dad, who is flying around helping people and she has done some brilliant writing about her dad too. While Eva has done a fantastic drawing of a Dr in full PPE keeping himself and others safe.  Wow! What a wonderful representation of the NHS and how fab that their dad is their HERO! Thank you so much girls for sharing this with us…and thank you dad for all your hard work!

Wow! I LOVE this Wonder Woman made by Alana (Year 4).   She has done a really fabulous job and has got every detail spot on. Alana  chose Wonder Woman because she is a female hero who shows strength and intelligence…. and also she can beat the male villains! I couldn’t agree more Alana and thank you for sharing this with us!

Wow!  Caitlin (Year 3) has just sent me another awesome picture which is celebrating the work of her heroes the NHS and how clever to have take a photo of it on her tablet and add in the rainbow…the symbol of hope! Bravo Caitlin!

These two sisters have done these wonderful pictures to celebrate their heroes…the NHS! Mikayla (Year 5) and Caitlin (Year 3) have used both traditional drawing techniques alongside drawing pictures on their tablets.  Amazing work girls and thank you so much for sharing your drawings with us!
