Above and Below by Patricia Hegarty and illustrated by Hanako Clulow is the inspiration for this art project.

This informative book talks about what lives above and below in many different ecosystems. I decided to focus on the illustration of the forest. I love how you can see the deep, calm forest above and the burrowing creatures below.

This is what the children produced in school, in just under an hour.  Wow! I cannot tell you how proud I am with how hard every single child work…and the fantastic results speak for themselves!
