Art Gallery 04/05/20

Look at this beautiful drawing by Liberty (Year 5), which pays tribute to the amazing worker of the NHS and all the other key workers.  Well done Liberty and thanks for sharing this with us!

Trinity (Year 2) has done this fabulous picture, which really shows off her drawing skills. Great work Trinity!

This is a brilliant piece of art from Ben (Year 3), which cleverly tells the Easter story through pictures.  The imagery is very powerful and you are able to follow the story from the beginning right the way through is this clear, pictorial way. Fantastic work Ben and thank you so much for sharing this with us!

This cross has been created by Caitlin (Year 3), using her tablet.  I love the way she has blurred the lines as it makes it look very effective.  Well done Caitlin and thanks for sharing!

Lucy (Year 4) has been busy creating again.  This time she has made these lovely rainbow loom bands, which look amazing and  are also a great reminder to the NHS.  Thanks for sharing this Lucy!

What a beautiful flower picture created by Isa (Year R).  I love the idea of using pencil shavings to make the petals.  Great work Isa and thanks for sharing.

Goodness me!  Look at this fabulous ‘work of art’!  Molly (Year 1) has taken a long time and a lot of pride in making this sensational sea based art project, which even includes a very groovy narwhal. With the help of her grandad,  on the glue gun duty, Molly  has used a variety of different art forms including painting,  paper mache and recycling material for collage. Amazing effort – well done Molly….and Grandad!

Wow!  I love this aquarium that Evan (Year 3) has created.  There are so many plants and sea creature in there that it must of taken him a long time, but it was well worth it because it looks fab!  Well done Evan.

Sophie K (Year 3) has done this very colourful rainbow to remind us of the importance of staying safe.  Thanks for the reminder Sophie and for the fab poster!

Wow! What amazing arts and crafts Jack (Year 3) and Harry (Year 1) have been making,  This Duplo rainbow looks superb and so do these salt dough handprints of all the family, which is a lovely keepsake.

Outside they did this stunning multi-coloured heart to celebrate the invaluable work of the NHS.

The boys then went on to make these fabulous paper mache Roman helmets and dressed up as Roman soldiers to try them out.  Wonderful work Jack and Harry – thanks for sharing.

This stunning pair of pictures have been patiently created by Islwyn (Year 6) and Mostyn (Year 3).  Their theme was ‘The Northern Lights’ and they have done a sensational job.  They are a real work of art.  Fantastic effort boys, I’m sure you will inspire others to give this a go!

Look at this lovely art work by Anna (Year 5) that is celebrating New Life. It is so beautiful to see ‘Nature in action!  Fab photos Anna and thanks for sharing!

Look at this fantastic circular Viking shield that Callum (Year 4) has made.  It is clear that he has spent a great deal of time making it look this good. Thanks for sharing this Callum!

Oh my gosh…not only is this bug hotel functional, but I think it is one of the prettiest bug hotels I have ever seen.  This has been made by Darcy (Year 2 ) and her dad and as you can see they has spent a great deal of time making it look stunning. Just look at the beautiful flowers that adorn it.  I’m sure any bugs would love to stay here!  Well done Darcy…and your dad –  thanks for sharing!

Wow!  Look at this amazing patchwork quilt that Monique (Year 6) has made.  I think she has shown a graet deal of patience in completing this, but it was well worth it because the end result is fantastic! Thank you for sharing this with us Monique.

Monique has also displayed a talent for colouring as these pictures demonstrate.  She has very carefully coloured them in and they look stunning.  Great work Monique.

Look at all this fabulous art work that Lucy (Year 4) and Freddie (Year R) have created.  I can see that not only have they made some wonderful crafts, but they also both love colour.  Thank you for sharing these with us!

Alana is always producing fab art and this Viking shield is no exception.  I think she has got the colours and size spot on and the overall effect is very impressive.  Great work Alana and thanks for sharing!

Wow! This picture of a tiger is absolutely sensational.  It is also impressive when you know that Jacob K (Year 6) created it on his drawing tablet.  What a great idea Jacob and I’m sure that you will have inspired others to draw on their tablets too.  Thanks for sharing!

Art can take many forms and food art is no exception.  So when Emelia sent me these stunning photos of her amazing rainbow cake I had no hesitation in sharing them on here.  I bet it tasted as good as it looks, but sadly I haven’t had the chance to have a slice myself.  I hope when the ‘Lockdown’ is over Emelia may make this cake again, so I can just check for myself how delicious it is!!

Art Challenge Celebrations for VE Day

Portsmouth Naval Base is looking to mark the occasion of VE day and need YOUR HELP!  They have asked for you to draw pictures on the subject of WW2 & VE DAY and as an extra challenge try to incorporate a rainbow somewhere in the picture (even in the corner).  The pictures will be displayed within the Naval Base and once the day is over they hope to make contact with local nursing homes to distribute the pictures to help cheer our elderly community. If you would like your work sent to the Naval base you will have to email it to me by Monday evening, 4th May.  However, all work sent to me will still be displayed, as usual, on the Art Blog.

In addition to the drawings for the Naval Base,  I  would appreciated any art and craft linked to this important historic  occasion, such as bunting, chalk drawings,  figures of soldiers, planes or medals. I know, as always, you will blow me away with your imaginative ideas and creativity.

Here are some ideas that we did in school today:

Please email your artwork to me:
