      Story starter!<\/h3>\n

      This week is ‘Anti-Bullying Week.’ Rather than a story starter, here is a quote from Wonder by R.J. Palacio, chapter\u00a0Ordinary<\/em>: ‘I know I\u2019m not an ordinary ten-year-old kid. I mean, sure, I do ordinary things. I eat ice cream. I ride my bike. I play ball. I have an Xbox. Stuff like that makes me ordinary. I guess. And I feel ordinary. Inside. But I know ordinary kids don\u2019t make other ordinary kids run away screaming in playgrounds. I know ordinary kids don\u2019t get stared at wherever they go. If I found a magic lamp and I could have one wish, I would wish that I had a normal face that no one ever noticed at all. I would wish that I could walk down the street without people seeing me and then doing that look-away thing. Here\u2019s what I think: the only reason I\u2019m not ordinary is that no one else sees me that way.’<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Imagine you are the boy. Using the information from the quotes, write a story that continues from this point. What happens next after you have introduced yourself to your reader?<\/p>\n

      Write in first person (I, we) or third person (she,he,it) if you are talking about another character.<\/p>\n

      Sentence challenge!<\/h2>\n

      Use a series of rhetorical questions in your writing but remember to use a question mark.<\/p>\n

      E.g. Will they ever stop staring at me? Why do I have to be so different? Is there anyone who can help?<\/p>\n
