{"id":804,"date":"2018-01-19T16:28:06","date_gmt":"2018-01-19T16:28:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.stpeterswaterlooville.co.uk\/year4\/?p=804"},"modified":"2018-01-19T16:28:06","modified_gmt":"2018-01-19T16:28:06","slug":"19th-january-2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.stpeterswaterlooville.co.uk\/year4\/2018\/01\/19\/19th-january-2018\/","title":{"rendered":"19th January 2018"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Another week finished in Year 4!<\/p>\n<p>In Maths this week we having been look at finding fractions of amounts and solving simple word problems involving fractions.<\/p>\n<p>Our English\u00a0work\u00a0this week\u00a0has involved\u00a0orally rehearsing vocabulary\u00a0in preparation to write\u00a0a commentary\u00a0for a\u00a0scene\u00a0in the Peter Pan film.<\/p>\n<p>RE this week has progressed onto looking closely at Jesus&#8217;s Transfiguration and its link to light.<\/p>\n<p>For home learning over next week the children have to practise telling the time in both analogue and digital (12hr and 24hr).\u00a0This could include counting the number of minutes until a given\u00a0point and converting minutes to hours (and vice versa).\u00a0If this is something you find easy, then why not try solving word problems that involve time conversions!<\/p>\n<p>Why not try learning this off-by-heart&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>30 days have September, April, June and November.<\/p>\n<p>All the rest have 31.<\/p>\n<p>Except for February alone, which has 28 each year and 29 each leap year!<\/p>\n<p>3\/4 spellings to practise:<\/p>\n<p>address<\/p>\n<p>appear<\/p>\n<p>arrive<\/p>\n<p>different<\/p>\n<p>difficult<\/p>\n<p>disappear<\/p>\n<p>grammar<\/p>\n<p>(Double consonant words)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Super 6 spellers have:<\/p>\n<p>mind<\/p>\n<p>night<\/p>\n<p>why<\/p>\n<p>eyes<\/p>\n<p>inside<\/p>\n<p>like<\/p>\n<p>(the long &#8216;igh&#8217; phoneme)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Finally, some children will have the next set of five YR5\/6 words.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Have a lovely weekend,<\/p>\n<p>The Year 4 Team!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Another week finished in Year 4!
