{"id":296,"date":"2014-10-17T13:33:38","date_gmt":"2014-10-17T13:33:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.stpeterswaterlooville.co.uk\/year2\/?p=296"},"modified":"2014-10-17T13:33:38","modified_gmt":"2014-10-17T13:33:38","slug":"our-home-learning-this-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.stpeterswaterlooville.co.uk\/year2\/2014\/10\/17\/our-home-learning-this-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Our Home Learning This Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Our Year 2 home learning this week is:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Abacus<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>My Maths<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Bug Club<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Miss Smillie:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Write sentences that use \u2018our\u2019 and \u2018are\u2019 &#8211; make sure I use the correct spelling!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Miss Stinton:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Write words that use the \/oy\/ sound e.g. coin, boy<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mrs Wickes and Miss Hele:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Write words that use the \/ee\/ sound e.g. week, bead, scene<\/p>\n<p>ee\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 e_e\u00a0\u00a0 ea\u00a0\u00a0 ey\u00a0\u00a0 y\u00a0\u00a0 e<\/p>\n<p><strong>Next week we will be learning about:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In<strong> numeracy <\/strong>we<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>will be adding and subtracting 10 to any number.<\/p>\n<p>You can prepare for this be practising counting in 10s starting from random numbers e.g. 2, 12, 22, 32, 42 (look at the pattern).<\/p>\n<p>We will also be learning about the mid-point number e.g. half way between 10 and 20 is <strong>15<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In<strong> literacy<\/strong> we will be finishing off our letter writing unit. We plan to write a letter to the Queen, writing formally. If you would like to find out information about the Queen, you will be able to help teach the class next week.<\/p>\n<p>In<strong> RE<\/strong> will be focusing on\u00a0the Rosary. Watching mummy and daddy praying the Rosary will help children to understand how to use it.
