We are enjoying our learning in Year 1.\u00a0 \"cartoon<\/a><\/p>\n

This week we began our new topic Journeys.\u00a0 We have been busy writing letters to a selected author about how we can help to write interesting sentences to his book that only has pictures.\u00a0 We found this very exciting!<\/p>\n

In numeracy we have been exploring adding objects and numbers together and showing our number sentence on a number line.\u00a0\u00a0We find this\u00a0quite tricky but we feel we are growing with confidence every time we use number lines.<\/p>\n

We enjoyed our whole school liturgy and meeting Bishop Philip\u00a0\"bishop<\/a>\u00a0 on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday,\u00a0the whole school attended Remembrance Service.\u00a0 \"poppy<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 This was a time when we had the opportunity to remember all the soldiers who fought and\u00a0died for our country.\u00a0 We continued our learning about Remembrance Day in the afternoon by making our own poppies, writing poems and making models.<\/p>\n

Please continue to learn phase 3,4 and 5 sounds of letters and sounds.\u00a0 These can be found in the beginning of your home school diaries.\u00a0 Can you also read \"cartoon<\/a>daily with your child?<\/p>\n

All children have new books on Bug Club and\u00a0numeracy work on Abacus.\u00a0 Encourage your child to explore Bug Club and Abacus as much as possible.\u00a0 This is a fun way of continuing your child’s learning at home.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday is our second parents evening.\u00a0 If you have not yet made an appointment with us, please come and ask for a time.\u00a0 We will look forward to seeing you then!<\/p>\n
