{"id":452,"date":"2019-02-01T16:21:41","date_gmt":"2019-02-01T16:21:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.stpeterswaterlooville.co.uk\/headteacher\/?p=452"},"modified":"2019-02-01T16:21:41","modified_gmt":"2019-02-01T16:21:41","slug":"dog-collars-and-dog-leads","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.stpeterswaterlooville.co.uk\/headteacher\/2019\/02\/01\/dog-collars-and-dog-leads\/","title":{"rendered":"Dog collars and dog leads"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During the week at St Peter&#8217;s, the children have welcomed special guests to enhance\u00a0their learning.<\/p>\n<p>The youngest pupils in the school played host to Fr Jeremy from the Church of the Sacred Heart and St Peter the Apostle.\u00a0 As part of the RE curriculum, Fr Jeremy brought vestments and chalices into school to explain to the children their significance in Mass.\u00a0 Rather bravely, Fr Jeremy also took questions from the 4 and 5 year old pupils, which ranged from the perceptive to the perplexing!\u00a0 Thank you Fr Jeremy for helping the children with their learning.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-453\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.stpeterswaterlooville.co.uk\/headteacher\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/02\/IMG_3650-300x224.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.stpeterswaterlooville.co.uk\/headteacher\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/02\/IMG_3650-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.stpeterswaterlooville.co.uk\/headteacher\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/02\/IMG_3650-768x574.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.stpeterswaterlooville.co.uk\/headteacher\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/02\/IMG_3650-1024x765.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, we had canine company for a recent assembly at St Peter&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-454\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.stpeterswaterlooville.co.uk\/headteacher\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/02\/Dogs-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.stpeterswaterlooville.co.uk\/headteacher\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/02\/Dogs-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.stpeterswaterlooville.co.uk\/headteacher\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/15\/2019\/02\/Dogs.jpg 320w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Havant Borough Council&#8217;s Animal Welfare Service team deliver an assembly to help children to learn how to approach dogs with care and caution when out in public, and what to do if they felt worried by a stray dog they may meet outdoors.\u00a0 Natalie and Jaz from the Borough Council brought along Darcy and Zak as fine doggy models, and many children had the chance for a quick pat of the dogs at the end of the assembly.\u00a0 Thank you to our local authority for providing the outreach education work.<\/p>\n<p>And that brings to an end a week where we were expecting a new building and lots of snow, neither of which arrived!\u00a0 Thank you all for your patience and efforts in keeping up to date via parent mail and the school website, we will pass information about the new delivery date for the building as soon as we have it confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>Mr R Cunningham<br \/>\nHeadteacher<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>During the week at St Peter&#8217;s, the children have welcomed special guests to enhance\u00a0their learning.
